I Want a New Labtop

For a while now I have wanted a new lab top. The one I currently have is old, outdated heavy, ugly; the list goes on…haha. So I have been debating between a Dell and a MacBook (I know the answer that many of you will say…lol). But I still can not decide, until today, when I saw this. Now I am leaning a little more towards an Apple but the price is a little steep and I also want to see what it looks like in person first. Hopefully they will have it at the Apple Store. Then I will make my decision.

Cool machine, but a little pricey in my opinion... The SSD would be BITCHIN', but that one's over three grand! Dunno if it's worth it. But hey, the standard MacBook is pretty sweet, too.

Standard MacBook...more affordable, has an optical drive. I use one every day and LOVE IT.

You def shouldnt by the MacBook air if it is gonna be your primary computer. I don't think it will have enough horsepower or functionality for you.

But as a second computer for times where you traveling or need a lightweight option...it is def a good choice.

The only reason I'm gonna get one is that it will be easy for me to take to the library or the coffee shop along with my 20 pounds of books everyday. LOL!

According to The Guy it would be better to get the base Macbook Pro over this because the Air doesn't have things like a DVD burner, Apple remote, ethernet ports, or a discrete graphics card (for any type of gaming). He says this is more for business people who have everything Apple already and wouldn't necessarily need all of the above components. For a main computer though you'd want to go with something else apparently.

although I'm on an Anti-Apple binge right now thanks to the ipod touch upgrade fee, I can say I do like my MacBook. Much more worth the money than the MacBookAir. It does look really cool though, especially if you could get the SSD, but it would mean much more $$$$.

im totally getting the air and im gonna use it for a primary computer. i thought id just add that while the computer doesnt come with an optical drive you can buy one. its called the macbook air superdrive (or is that what you were calling an ssd? basicaly you plug it into the usb on the air. you might not have seen it if you didnt look for it?
