I am really close with my aunt, she is like a second mother to me. Today we were talking and the subject of gay people came up. I get nervous to talk about that subject with family members. But what she said REALLY made me happy. She believes that a person is born gay and it is not a decision.
I am EXTREMELY happy to hear this because maybe one day, if I ever come out, I at least know that my aunt will hopefully be ok and understand it.

ah! having a family relative like that is... great. i know EXACTLY how you felt when she started talking to you about "gay people." weird, huh? just be you. and yeah, maybe one day you can confide in her in some way. keep on "unlocking" her and talk to her about other "deep" topics too to get a better gauge on her. it's one thing to know gay people, it's funny how even the most liberal parents/relatives behave when that "gay person" suddenly comes too close to home (i.e. being their own son or daughter). Just keep that in mind and go slow. You'll know when to say something to someone. We're here for you.
